Tony Sr. is CMDI’s President and has over four decades of diverse, high quality, and senior-level professional experience in community redevelopment, county/city management and administration, urban and community economic development, business development programming, economic analysis, economic and community planning, affordable housing development and budget and financial management/analysis. This experience includes all aspects of administration, organization, planning, financing and execution associated with the urban and community development and redevelopment processes. His experience includes the planning, design, development and implementation of economic development programs, incentives and strategies to attract new business and investment and to facilitate the expansion and retention of existing business enterprises.


Tony E. Crapp, Sr. holds a Master of Public Affairs with a concentration in Urban & Domestic Public Policy from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard University.

He is an expert in the field of community redevelopment and has extensive hands-on experience and expert knowledge of the formula grant allocation and other funding programs of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. His direct involvement and administration of USHUD Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Shelter Grant, and HOME Grant funding as well as the tax-increment funding of Community Redevelopment Agencies in accordance with Chapter 163 of Florida Statutes dates back to 1995 with an ongoing involvement to the present.


In addition to his diverse management consulting activities through CMDI Solutions, Tony Sr. has served for several years as a Grant Reviewer for various Federal Grant Program Application Reviews through the U.S. Department of HUD, U.S. Department of HHS, and the U.S. Treasury Department.
